How do you combine branding and conversion in e-commerce design?

Manfield, part of the Termeer Group, is a successful Dutch footwear retailer known for style, class, and quality. But how do you bring this brand story and inspiring content to life online when you run on an outdated e-commerce platform with performance issues? That was Manfield’s challenge. The solution: a custom design tailored to key user needs, powered by a new headless e-commerce platform.

What was the plan?

Manfield’s ambition was clear: the new design had to breathe the brand story, strengthen branding, inspire the audience, and align with Manfield’s slogan “Style and Quality”. The starting points for the new design were:

Starting points for the creative concept

XSARUS showed Manfield how creative design solutions that support branding and marketing can go hand in hand with proven e-commerce best practices. In the concept phase, we used the flexibility of the headless e-commerce platform, personalization capabilities from the CDP (Spotler), and the latest e-commerce developments as key inputs. The creative concept aligned perfectly with Manfield’s core keywords: innovative, personal, and conversion focused.

A design that inspires

A key goal of the new design is to inspire the target audience. How do you achieve that? The UX and UI designers at XSARUS thought this through carefully and tailored the design accordingly. Manfield’s webshop radiates inspiration through atmospheric imagery of models wearing the shoes. In addition, the “How to wear” content block on the product detail page inspires customers by showing different styling options. A real boost for the customer experience.

How was the design created?

Through co creation. A key part of the partnership to strengthen Manfield’s branding. During multiple working sessions, we explored the target audience, Manfield’s vision, goals, and requirements. This close collaboration was essential to ensure the design matched the different needs of various stakeholders. Manfield’s vision and marketing perspective, combined with XSARUS creativity and technical expertise, proved to be a powerful combination.

What was the result?

The new design matches Manfield’s look, feel, and brand experience. Customers now experience a consistent brand feeling, no matter where or how they interact with Manfield. It feels right. And it delivers visible progress. Thanks to a user friendly webshop that meets today’s customer expectations, Manfield is already seeing a strong uplift in conversion.
