The challenge of endless combinations
With MyMepal, Mepal allows customers to fully customize products to their preferences. This leads to a vast range of possible combinations. Mepal managed these variants through separate configurations within the webshop. This resulted in a high level of manual work and incomplete orders. It created a clear need for a single central place where all options and dependencies come together.
PIM as the foundation for configuration
This central role is fulfilled by Akeneo PIM. Products are set up here as configurable items, including all available options, relationships, dependencies, and rules. From PIM, this data flows automatically to the webshop and other channels.
This approach makes it easy to implement changes quickly and in a controlled way. For example, when Mepal adds a new color for a lunch box lid, a single update in PIM automatically applies this change across all channels.
