AI is taking over more and more tasks in PIM as well. With Agentic Ziggy, Akeneo takes this a step further. The AI agent analyses your product data, identifies opportunities for improvement and carries out tasks for you. Discover what Agentic Ziggy can do for your organisation and what to consider to get real value from it.

Ask Ziggy: get answers instantly

Do you know what you want to achieve in Akeneo, but not exactly where to find the relevant setting? Or are you unsure which configuration you need and what impact a change might have? Ask Ziggy is here to help. The AI assistant combines knowledge from Akeneo documentation and best practices with information from your own PIM environment. This helps you find the right answers faster, without having to involve a PIM administrator or support team.

Agentic Ziggy: put insights into action

Ziggy does more than provide advice. It also helps you implement changes. How does this work? The AI agent creates a step by step action plan, explains the impact of the proposed changes and waits for your approval before carrying them out. Agentic Ziggy brings analysis, advice and execution together in a single process. This saves valuable time, especially when it comes to recurring PIM management tasks.

Agentic Ziggy in practice
Reviewing & improving product classifications

A practical example is reviewing and improving product classifications. A user might ask: “Check how products within these categories are classified, identify inconsistencies and suggest improvements.” Ziggy can then:

  • Analyse the existing category structure and product classification.
  • Identify inconsistencies and incorrectly classified products.
  • Suggest well founded classification improvements.
  • Create an action plan.
  • Show the impact of the proposed changes.
  • Apply the new classifications once approved.

However: the quality of these suggestions depends on the quality of your existing PIM foundation. AI identifies patterns in your product data and flags deviations. If your PIM foundation is not in good shape, the suggested improvements might miss the mark as well.

Automate tasks without losing control

How do you stay in control as you delegate more tasks to agents like Agentic Ziggy? Strong data governance is essential. Akeneo follows five governance principles:

  • Traceability: Suggestions, decisions and actions can be traced back to their source.
  • Auditability: Suggestions and actions can be reviewed and verified.
  • Reversibility: AI Enrichment changes can be reversed through Change Sets. You receive a warning in advance if an action cannot be undone.
  • Explainability: Ziggy explains why it recommends a change or suggests a particular action.
  • Contractibility: Ziggy warns you about the potential consequences of significant changes, such as modifications to the data model.

A key principle is that a human is always involved in the process. Ziggy operates within the user's permissions and only executes proposed changes after approval.

How Agentic Ziggy continues to evolve

Akeneo is continuing to integrate Ziggy with other parts of the Akeneo Product Cloud platform. One interesting example is PX Insights, which provides insights into how your product information performs across AI driven search and recommendation platforms. If the analysis identifies opportunities for improvement, Agentic Ziggy can translate those insights directly into concrete actions within your PIM system.

What does this mean for your organisation?

The benefits of Ziggy vary by role. End users get faster answers to their questions and support with everyday tasks. E-commerce and product managers can make product data available more quickly and consistently. IT, PIM and data teams gain more time to focus on governance and long term improvements to data quality.

The real value of Agentic Ziggy lies not only in automating tasks, but also in creating more room to improve product information management.
